Your next door neighbour when staying at the cottage is the superb Rose & Crown - it is like having your own bar and restauant on site and no visit to the cottage goes without a few hours enjoying the local hospitality.
The atmosphere in the Brasserie tends to be a bit more bustling and the food is as good as the restaurant. The R&C Romaldkirk has won Michelin pub of the year last year and is the highest rated food in the north east in the good food guide.
There is an excellent choice of about 8 starters and 10 main courses plus good puds and cheeses. Wine list is good range with about 12 wines by the glass and another 30 or so on the list. cask ales are by Theakston and often feature a guest such as Emmerdale.
